Movie Chatbot

This chatbot is trained to talk about movies in English. Different from most commercial chatbots like Siri and Alexa, it does not have pre-defined answers to select from, but calculates new responses based on word probabilities. It also has some built-in (sometimes very strong) opinions about the movies, actors or directors. Additionally, it is connected to a knowledge base and can give you information about that movie.

To start a conversation, select a movie to talk about and type in a greeting. The chatbot will calculate its response based on the previous turns in the conversation. It cannot talk about several movies at the same time. If you want to talk about a different movie, select a new one from the top.

While the bot is trained to integrate facts and opinions about each movie, it still struggles with consistency. We are currently working on finding ways to fix that. It also tends to wander off or start to repeat itself after a while. When that happens, simply clear the chat history and start a new conversation.

Your input will only be used as input to the model to calculate the next response and will not be stored after that.

As you might have experienced above, chatbots like these still have some problems. Trying to fix them is one of the areas of our research, because in comparison to current speech assistants like Siri and Alexa, these chatbot models have the advantage of being able to react to unforeseen input.
