Argyro Katsika

Welcome!

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Linguistics at University of Potsdam, working with Dr. Adamantios Gafos. My main research interests are in the areas of prosody, phonetics and Articulatory Phonology. I am particularly interested in how prosodic structure affects speech timing and interacts with speech errors, and what the acoustic and kinematic correlates of the production and perception of prosody are. I aspire to continue research in prosody, with a special focus on the coordination of oral and prosodic speech events, and to ultimately contribute to a coherent theory of prosodic structure and a model of speech timing that accommodates it. Outside of prosody, I have also conducted research in the areas of semantics and phonology, and specifically in complement coercion and the deletion of /r/ in Samothraki Greek respectively.
