About the Workshop

Incrementality has recently become a popular topic in various different fields of research, most prominently Experimental Psycholinguistics, but also in Computational Linguistics, Linguistics including Phonetics and Phonology, and various branches of AI. In this workshop we want to bring together researchers from these different fields who have been working on the processing of increments of information. The goal of the workshop is to provide an overview of how incrementality is investigated in these different fields and to provide opportunities for discussion and potentially for further cooperation.

The workshop is hosted by SFB 673, "Alignment in Communication", and will take place at ZiF, Bielefeld University. Additional support from a DFG grant in the Emmy Noether Programme is gratefully acknowledged.

Contributions to the Workshop will be invited to a Special Issue of the Journal Dialogue and Discourse.
