the webspace of Gisbert Fanselow. I am a professor of syntax in the linguistics department of the University of Potsdam, Germany.
My major research interest has always been (generative) syntax, my more recent work in this field focuses on discontinuous noun phrases, the interface of syntax and information structure, head movement, scrambling, and superiority effects. I also spend time and energy on investigations concering optimal empirical methods for syntax research (in particular: acceptability judgments), and I try contribute my syntactic expertise to work in the area of sentence processing that I carry out with friends and colleagues.
I love teaching students who like to be taught in the domains of syntax & morphology.
